These movies are the opposite of fluff movies something like The Wizard of OZ theres nothing realistic in those movies no one can really relate to flying to a magical land where theres straw men and witches. The film noir is made for the viewer to realate to the stpry line say, someone who has a terrible, hard life and/or has a drug or alchol problems. These movies are depressing but theres a light at the end of the tunnel and is refreshing because if you have the same problem, it gets better have hope. Its nice to know these movies were made when WW2 was happening because to all those people how were worried and had problems had some pleasure tto able to relate these people and have faith for there future. Its a Wonderful Life is Film noir because George had to put his dreams on hold in order to continue the family bussiness, then he was in serious debt, loans were needed, more family issues then he left it all and dreamed of a better life left his kids and wife. He went threw a horrible stage his wife, children everyone he knew forgot or didnt know him. He realized how great life really was.
